His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region, stressed the importance of taking the knowledge and scientific aspects in its comprehensive concept into consideration, which includes applied sciences and Sharia aspects that museums provide to their visitors as well as enhancing the financial returns that ensure the sustainability of this knowledge system.
This was during His Highness’s patronage of the signing ceremony of the agreement to allocate the headquarters for the exhibition and the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, to be established on an area of 20,000 square meters in the Economic Knowledge City (KEC) in Medina, in the presence of His Excellency the Adviser at the Royal Court, the member of the Council of Senior Scholars, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Chairman of the Board of the KEC, Mr. Amin Shaker, and some officials.
His Highness mentioned the necessity of using modern technologies in museums, so the visitor shall have a realistic view of the social life in the era of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the features of the arts of government during the early era of Islam.
His Highness also indicated that the work had already started some time ago by creating a model for the exhibition that deals with the blessed biography, and sheds light on the various personal aspects of the Master of Creation, peace be upon him. A part of the museum that is hosted by the main headquarters of the Biography of the Prophet, which will have several branches in different parts of the world as a civilized project that restores, from this holy land, the concept of good morals, the tolerance and moderation of the Islamic religion, and the high moral and human aspects it entails.
Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa pointed out that the museum is located in its main headquarters in the city of the Prophet, peace be upon him, reflects the importance and merit, as the kingdom is the land of the Prophet’s message, the civilization of Islam, and on its pure land the religion was completed and carried to the worlds by men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Noting that the Muslim World League has received many requests from 24 countries wishing to establish sub-copies of the museum, which will start in Indonesia, as well as the United Arab Emirates, where the league will participate with a copy of the museum at Expo 2020 in Dubai.
Al-Issa extended his thanks to His Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman for his generous guidance in hosting the main headquarters of the museum in Medina, as well as his continuous follow-up to this important project, which is in line with the great support provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince to serve Islam and Muslims.
After that, His Highness watched a visual presentation on the exhibition and museum of the Biography of the Prophet and Islamic Civilization in its previous versions and museum exhibits.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement concluded between the Muslim World League and the KEC aims to establish the headquarters of the exhibition and the international museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization in Medina, to be one of the important landmarks embraced by the Kingdom to serve the noble prophetic biography using the latest methods and technologies, including scientific and research centers, training, development, and translation centers, advanced galleries, international conference rooms and scientific seminars, a center for women and children, and many different activities to be a source of global civilizational radiation whose lights emanate from the city of the Prophet, peace be upon him, to the whole world.
